I sound like such an awful goo parent I'm making new posts twice a flipping day. 😖
Poppy our young goo who we have had 8 days now, I've just this second notice one of her front top teeth are missing.. the rest are all a nice length and a nice orange shade.. but suddenly one is gone? I have not noticed this until now? I can't tell if it's gone completely or broken off because her lip is in the way..
She's eating fine and doesn't seem bothered though. Is this bad? She's a disaster I feel so bad! Bitten 3 times (doesn't give a crud though may I add, I panicked way more lol) and now she's lost a tooth! I spent about 20 minutes trying to see if it's broken or missing completely.
So is this a major concern and does she need to go to a vet? I don't know what they'd be able to do. Has anyone else had this happen? She's eating and acting fine and being snuggly and inquisitive etc so no behavioural changes...
I hope nobody thinks I have 0 clue what I'm doing, I swear I do!!! I'd rather just check everything out with you guys when it comes to things I'm a bit unsure about or want to improve on rather than let my goos suffer for me thinking I know best when you guys are so much more experienced!
If she does need a vet I could ring p@h and just say that she's got a tooth missing, had that mysterious white blob of gunk etc and I'm sure they'd give me a free vet consultation as they know I'm a trouble maker for them lol!

You are a good goo parent to be making these posts – it means that you are paying attention to your goos' health/welfare. It is more likely that it is a broken tooth. • If she is eating normally and acting normally then I would be tempted to just wait to see if it grows back. • If she stops eating normally (selectively eating like avoiding certain shapes or hard foods) and/or begins to lose weight, I would definitely take her to a vet ASAP. A vet may not be able to do anything but they can verify whether it is lost or broken, and if there is an infection or if she is experiencing pain. That said, if you can get a free vet consultation, I would probably go and just have her generally checked out if she hasn't seen a vet before. ( FYI: I am a hyper-sort that would rather be safe than sorry – and that issue with the white blob of gunk would have likely sent me running to the vet. Has there been any more white blobs? Are you 100% that it came from her?)

No, no more white blobs and I don't know what else it could have come from as she's separated from the others as she's knew. I'll try and see if I can get a free consultation then.
The only thing I've noticed her not eating is her nuggets.. but the other two won't eat theirs either so I think I must have a funny batch or something.. I've been trying different ones to see if they'll eat any.. no luck yet!

Certainly looks broken off. Buddy has a thing for breaking his top tooth but always recovers well, never needed vet treatment for them. They grow really fast so as long as they're eating and drinking and doing goo things I think it should be fine, just keep an eye on the length of the bottom one since it now has nothing to rub against.

It varies how they cope with this. As Uglibug says, the risk is that the opposite tooth overgrows because it has nothing to oppose it. My Floss has a damaged tooth that splits and she manages to shift her jaw very slightly sideways so the one (or one and half) tooth opposes both on the top, the surfaces go a bit wonky but they all wear at the same rate overall, so it doesn't cause her a problem. Basically, if the opposite tooth overgrows, she will need the vet to clip it, this should be apparent in two or three days, it's very surprising how fast they grow.
Long term, let's hope that diet improvements strengthen her teeth for the future.
Don't worry, nobody is judging you, or if we are, we are thinking you care a lot about your goos and are doing your best for them, which is all anyone can do.

Thanks guys! I'll keep an eye on her mouth then - thank gosh she's cuddly, I'd have no chance with my other two! If it starts looking over grown (the bottom one) I'll ring the vet midweek x
