Hello everyone, I'm new to this site & was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice. This past Sunday I adopted 3 chinchillas from a rescue organization. One is approximately 3 year old ebony female, the next is approximately 3 year old beige male & their baby girl ( almost 3 months old). The woman at the rescue said she never advocates breeding but these 2 parents are a bonded pair who have been together for 2 1/2 years. So she recommended keeping them together and removing the baby. This weekend the baby, Tinkerbelle, will be moving in with Elle ( our 9 month old female). We were giving them a few days to become friendly before making the move. For the parents, is it bad to separate them ( for their emotional well-being) or is it worse to allow them to continue to breed? The man who surrendered them to the rescue said they've had litters in the past without any problems. As far as neutering goes , I've read this is too dangerous to try, is this also correct? Sorry this was soo long. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
