Okay, I thought fatsy was paying too much attention to her downstairs dept and thought I'd better re check and nearly had a heart attack, at first I thought maybe tweeny had bitten it off in the last encounter or it's somehow been cut and hadn't noticed but I'm thinking I may be overreacting and it might just look worse than what it did at first as I'm assuming a bit cut on the cone area would be making her much iller than she is type of thing. Does it look like a cut, there was blood last time they were together but I thought it was her finger and that had busted again or is this wear and tear from keep putting her bottom down and peeing like she has been, she has been doing this since before I took the last photo of her to see if definately female and on all different types of florring/materials. DOes it look cut or just sore? Do they et thrush like us on antibiotics etc. Sorry this was all I could do as dont have another pair of hands and didn't want to wait for her to be ameniable to a photo. I tried my hardest but camera not the best and i'm a little shakey and didn't hold her long enough and could use hand to focus or hold the phone. At one angle it looks awful but not sure if shows

Photo bucket degrade the quality of vids the same as facebook so they're not as clear as the originals on my laptop!

I must admit, on the first video, I couldn't see anything wrong. I did see the red spot on these of second one, though. Not having come across this, I'm not sure. Has she been weeing normally?

Well, no not quite normally, as she's been peeing on everything but seems purposefully, you put something in and she wees on it stright away and puts her bum down to do so even en-route and even on me like she's trying to claim everything and anything, but because of this she's been rubbing the floor a lot as she walks but then she was doing this before the pic to check if girl and looked fine then so really confused. But I'm worried as hadn't checked downstair since the last fight with tweeny and vet didn't check either I don't think?? but then i'm sure I asked her too but then I think she forgot but can't quite remember, I know I spoke to her about the urine test??
Do they normally put their bum low on the floor to mark territory anyway??
it calmed down when back in the old cage but now seems to be rubbing it out of irritation??

She is probably irritated by it. The video crashes my web browser so I can't tell what it is and I don't know what it could be. I think she needs to be taken to a veterinarian and the sooner, the better in case there is some sort of blockage happening.

My girls squat low to wee, but they don't drag their bums, and any 'claiming' or 'marking' they do is just done with a little bit of wee in a normal way.
Watch out for her fussing at it with her mouth, you know it is bothering her if she is fiddling down there.
I can see the soreness, I'm also wondering if I'm seeing some swelling of the whole area, the skin looks like it might be a bit firm and tight?? In combination with the strange wee habits and behaviour, I would want this looked at, it might still be her using urine for marking and dominance in an extreme way, but it might not. We have recommendations for Dean and David at Downlands, so maybe one of those is in this week, even if it's not the official exotics person?

in regards to dean and david, one has now retired and the other is away on hols til next week,
It's more that shes squatting on everything as she's running round like in the new cage which was obsessively, this has now stopped massively now that she's back in the old cage but it is now irritated. I'll take a anoter look today and see if it's any better. I don't want to take her back to pets at home, as they're a bit pants to be honest althouh apparently the better one, mackie is back tomorrow.
Maybe I can get in contact with dave chitty but andover is quite a drive.
I really want to see someone who knows what they're doing mind you!

I've tried getting some better photos but not with much luck, i'll post them in a mo.
Whatever that really sore bit was has scabbed over so it can only have happened yesterday so it wasn't a bite from tweeny but it doesn't look that great down there tbh. There are hairs sticking out near the end of the cone also - is that normal?
I suppose all this started because tweeny didn't want to stop sniffing her behind and wouldn't leave it alone - maybe there is more to this?
Fatsy's still eating/drinking normally etc and is behaving a little more normally since being back in the old cage so I think I'm going to keep her there until it's figured out in case some of it is due to behaviour caused by not wanting to be in new cage and the biggest reason is that she wont rest in the new cage whereas she will in the old cage. She's still peeing everywhere, not as much as in old cage and on me again this morning. One big blob she did was a light cloudyish yellow colour - not sure what it's supposed to look like. I put some on some tissue and took a photo also so you could see the colour but it was definately a little cloudy.

Apologies, It's really hard to get the right angle to show you the sore/scab part as just can't do it one handed but it's the whole front section. But it's definately scabbed over.

I spoke to the companion care vet today, apparently the chitty specialist had said that she should rest for two weeks while seperated with the metacam etc as it may still heal enough and then see how it is then. I described the downstairs problem to her but she didn't seem overly concerned to be honest.
I will keep an eye on her for any deteriation in behaviours etc but I think I will take her to the other vet when the specialist is back next week for a full go over to be certain there's nothing more involved. It would be good to get their opinion on the paw as well.

It does look a little inflamed, but the meds she's already got should sort it out

Cloudy wee usually means there is some calcium in it, which is normal for you to see now and then, so that is unlikely to be an issue.
The cone looks sore and swollen to me, I'm not sure about some abdominal swelling in the area, what does it look and feel like compared to one of your other degus? There shouldn't be any fur on the cone, so I wonder if she has some trapped in the opening, this could definitely cause irritation. I wonder if you could pull on the hairs, maybe moisten it a bit with salted boiled water or something sterile first?
I think it sounds like a reasonable idea to take her to the degu man at Downlands on Monday and get both issues looked at, and keep a close eye on her in the meantime.
Is she still on antibiotics, have you got any left?

Hello yes, I thought that might be the case with the wee but thought i had better check. Tweenys on the other hand suddenly looked very orange but I will put that down to a new bird toy with very orangy brown bark that she was chewing on all night? Let me know if otherwise
I know he checked for swelling the first time at the vets but he found none at the time. I'm sure she's always had a couple of hairs there but I might be imagining that! I will maybe see if I can pull when I look again tomorrow night although I'm not sure good enouh with handling for that yet lol. she was given another load of AB so will keep up with them.

I find bark is one of the worst things for orange wee.
Degu burrito with a towel might help you restrain her one handed so you have a hand free for poking.

Ha, yes I will try that, I'm assuming they are not normally happy with the burrito thing lol! I've just never poked any animal down there, I suppose I'll have to get over it lol! Well it can't be worse than the worst baby nappy ;-)

Well . . . there is the rather awkward sense of the ridiculous that those owners of male degus with a prolapsed penis feel when they are applying KY jelly and trying to massage it back into place . . . LOL!! It is definitely less traumatic that the worst nappy, especially the ones that have exploded up the back of a onesy. EWWWWWW!
