Nice one! When I first put my Chelsea extension in, mine took a few days to even realise it existed. Now, I can't keep them out. Enjoy, Atlas and P-body!

Nice Have you thought about lying the cage on its side? I know it would take up a lot more space in your room, but it might be an option, or maybe you could look out for a longer top or side extension?

Unfortunately I can't really have anything wider right now! I live at my parents' at the moment and just don't have the space to do it. Even when we make large shelves for it I know it still isn't as wide as would be best but as I say, I really can't have more carpet area at this stage! Hopefully my other half will find work in the area soon and we can move out & I'll have some more room to play with. Thank you for the suggestion, though!

How about rigging it like a parking garage? you know--ramps & levels going round and round so that they can run continuously without breaking stride all the way up and all the way down. Might get dizzy degus, tho....

Might get dizzy degus, tho.... That's the way my old cage was set up. It didn't have enough running space, but the bridges and shelves were set up in such a way that they could run from top to bottom without stopping.

I've had it similar to that before. I'm on holiday for a week soon but when I'm back we'll be looking at making new, custom shelves for them, with running space being a top priority. It'll be a little while in the making but I'll update you all when it's done.
