Hi everyone, Our boys have been fighting a bit and one of them ripped some fur out the other ones neck. Thankfully (fingers crossed) this has stopped. The cut has healed and I cleaned it with mildly salty water at the time. The fur is starting to re-grow but the skin has a slight grey tinge. It's in a really awkward position under his throat, as you can see in the pics. He seems fine, is running around and eating normal amounts. I've posted some pics I sneakily took of him whilst tempting him with a seed. Sorry about the quality. Do I need to go to the vet or is that his skin just re growing? Panic?? Any help is appreciated!

If there is no odor from it, I think it is fine and is simply a scar in formation. Typically if there something happening that is of concern and needs attention, there will be heat, pink to reddish colouring around the wound, a foul odor, and swelling that will distort the flesh. All of these may not be present, but if you have even one or two you should have your vet look at it.
From the look of that wound and it's location, you can be thankful his throat wasn't torn right out, and he survived the battle. I am glad they are doing well now, but do keep an eye on them. If they haven't completely settled the differences/ accepted the outcome, they will likely fight some more.

When Dopey (RIP) went bald her skin was a brownish grey colour all over, so looks fairly normal to me.

Normal skin is grey colour with just a hint of pink undertone.

Great thanks. Sadly he was like that when we came home from work so I didn't see how it happened. I have some bachs flower remedy and a bigger cage in the making if they start up again!
