So I bought 4 packs of Kerbl Hemp matting from Amazon.... and having just cleaned the girls out, they seem to love it. I recommend a good sharp pair of scissors to cut it but it's just like them having carpet !!!  |

I'd like to know as well, have you completely quit using substrate? When you clean, do you toss the old and put in new?

Thank you deguconvert! Yes I have done away with substrate altogether. Last night was their first night on it and they loved it. They pulled a few fibres up but all still intact tonight. I'm hoping that when I clean them out I will be able to hose it down and put it back in, but it only cost £20 to do the whole cage so if I only get a couple of months out of it before I change it again it won't matter. The aim eventually is to have more than one set... one in and one 'in the wash' so to speak. I will keep you all posted  ? |
