Does he have wire floors? Does he seem to be in any distress? Bumble foot is incredibly painful and normally caused by wire mesh flooring. Degu feet are made up of little pads, could this be what you are seeing? Lofty sometimes gets bright pink/red pads when she spends a lot of time on the wooden floor rather than the substrate.

My degus spend a lot of time on their wheels, and on wood and cardboard. The pads of both of my degus are black in places and pink in others, and they don't seem to be in any pain or discomfort. Like uglibug says, make sure there is no wire for them to step on.

Bumble foot will not only have redness, but it will cause the foot to swell and be very hot to the touch. It is excruciating, so the degu will be reluctant to use that foot, so will likely be holding it up. If you are also seeing these, then you need to take your degu to the vet. Bumble foot need veterinary attention and care.
Some degus will naturally have whiteish, or pinkish patches on the bottoms of their feet/pads. Their feet are naturally rather lumpy and if we are unfamiliar with the way their feet look, it can freak us out bit. It wasn't until several months after getting our degus that I had the opportunity to look at their feet up close, and I panicked thinking that they had bumble foot. Nope . . . just normal, lumpy, pinkish degu feet. If you were to google bumble foot, you would be able to see some photos of bumble foot. It is quite distinctive and recognizable once you see it.

Perhaps you could tell us more about the housing and its flooring and what you are seeing on the foot, or maybe a photo?
