I find it really sad when i hear stories of someone passing and their companion not coping and passing too. Thats what happened to my goos yesterday. Sat night before i went to bed they were fine, gave them a little chin tickle goodnight. Sunday midday went to say hello to them and discovered them both dead.
Cant explain what has happened, all i can think is that Lance died first as i suspect he had a stroke in april which means he was weaker anyway then in the night and morning toto must have been really stressed and distraught and died too...
They had food, water, clean bedding. There was nothing different about the care they had in the time they were alive. They were about 6 and a half or 7.
Its so sad ive lost 2 goos, but its more sad that i think the 1 died as he was practically heart broken. But they went together which i suppose is slightly comforting.
Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Oh Bjames my heart goes out to you, how horrible.
- though not having a single sad lone goo is, as you say, slightly comforting.
I've not heard of one going quite so quickly due to the loss of its friend, but you do often hear of long-married humans going within a week or month of each other, so who knows?
I just want to say that I'm sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss of both goos. What a shock! I haven't heard of such rapid multiple deaths, except when there was an illness like a respiratory infection that all the degus had at the same time. I am so so sorry about this!
