One of my boys has a small lump on the front of his bottom lip. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, and he is eating normally still. It was just a small lump at first that didn't change at all for a few months, but the past few days I have noticed it is a little larger. Just wondering if anybody knows what this is? Not sure whether to take him to the vets, as it stressed him and his brother out quite a lot last time we took him. Thanks

Not sure what this could be. One of my degus had a lump/bump on her tail which the vet said was nothing to worry about - might be from an old injury.
However, with it growing, it might be worth having the vet have a look at it – especially if you have a vet with lots of degu experience. The fear is that it might be cancerous. Also, the vet may be able to tell you in advance if it can be removed – if it grows to big where it starts to interfere with eating, it might have to be removed and possibly the earlier the better.
Also, the original lump might have gotten infected. The vet might prescribe antibiotics for that.
I think taking him to the vet would be worth the stress it might cause him.

I agree if it's growing then it needs to be checked
