last night i went to feed my 2 chinchillas only to find one of them 'bubbles' was very very sick he was falling over making this strange rocking motion when he tried to walk he wouldn't eat or take water. he then began to have fits which was very distressing for all of us i kept him comfortable all night sadly he died early this morning, his death is completely out of the blue on saturday he was bouncing about and eating and drinking normally, i have always ensured they have good diet if anyone could help with any idea what happened it would be very grateful he was only 2 years old his cage mate is fine and the temp in the room has been fine also i know some people will think to call a vet out, well we did ring them and they wouldn't come out to him and it was too far. anyway if someone could shine some light on what could have possible happened it is most welcome.

I'm really sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately, it's really difficult to know what might have happened, it could be anything from stroke to other neurological issue, to severe infection or something else. With a progression of illness this quick, it doesn't sound like there was anything much you could have done for him, other than keep him comfortable and feeling loved, exactly like you did.
If you are really concerned, if you have a good relationship with your vet you could try speaking to them about it, maybe take in your remaining chin if you are worried about him.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bubbles. I hope your other boy is doing okay.
