How to attach a water bottle to a wood cage.

If you have a glass water bottle you can attach it inside the cage using a couple of cup hooks and the spring the bottle comes with. I screwed in one cuphook (dodgy rusty one low in pic) low down that I can poke the water tube through to take the weight. Then I used a screw to attach a snap hook on one end of the spring to the wall permanently (corner of vent) and a cup hook (top left) to fasten the spring in the wrapped round position. If that doesn't make much sense as words, here's a couple of pics:

Thanks for this. I saw you mention it in my cage build. I've used this idea but used two more hooks to secure the holder at the bottom of the cage. I'll take a pic too and upload it soon

The top hooks need to come down slightly but right now I'm worn out from building the bloody thing I'll do it later haha

That should work well it probably doesn't matter about the spring sitting in the groove.

One of our cages has perspex doors (and wooden sides). We found the easiest way to attach a water bottle was to mount the holder on the top of the cage, on a side wall, so that the bottle pokes through the top of the cage (our roof is made of mesh). Goos seem to prefer to drink from a bottle that is higher so they are sort of looking up at it, so it works well for us.

I have a plastic water bottle in my wooden cage. It's attached in the same manner only it has a mesh cage protecting it from little nibbling pikachus.... lol.
