Do you let your Degu's groom the tips of your fingers? I don't mind my Degu grooming the back of my hand and my fingers but then he tries to groom my finger tips and the side of my nails and I have to tell him to stop because it hurts there. And when I squeek at him he stops for a second then tries to groom the same place XD And today he peed on my finger ... I feel so loved

Not been peed on yet though.... Kinda glad to be honest! Are you serious?!?! You've never been pee'd on?! You wanna come to my house and meet Stan and Nige! After they've been out for playtime my clothes go straight in the wash! Mine don't groom me so much now, but Dave used to be the best and was really gentle, even on the tips of my fingers, but Jim was another story...ouch!

Very serious =) Either I am merely here to feed them and let them out (in their eyes) or they don't feel the need XP
Only 6months old (today!) though! Might go buy them a new toy...........

My dressing gown gets a lot of grooming i think because its sort of brown and fluffy (its better than it sounds honest) they think its my coat and regularly groom it - quite funny really. My pups dont groom much and Voldermort (formally squueek) is not gentle at all - can draw blood little *********. But Chilli and Pepper who are older love a good groom of the hand fingers palms etc and they hold on with their feet now as if to say "no remain there till im satisfied its clean thank you " they also groom the dressing gown As for pee - i am a walking toilet - my dressing gown is in the wash more than its out - its a sign of ownership and love and of course the odd poo just to top it off - love them

My goodness, I can be my own maraca some days! As for being a walking toilet - ROFL!!! I had to laugh, but in genuine empathy. I am frequently that well loved item for our boys too. They just seem compelled beyond control . . . . "Really mum . . . I crossed my legs and held my breath, but NOTHING would hold that wee back!! NOTHING!! I swear on my brilliant orange teeth and fluffy tail." "Aww Snug, relax! She LOVES it when we wee on'er!" "Well in that case . . . I WAS saving this for the far shelf and maybe a nice little trail over the branch . . . but I wouldn't want to make'er feel unloved." "There's a nice dry spot just to the left of'er belly button . . . why not give that a go?" "On my way!"

Dean stood up on his back legs to take a peek out of the cage the other day, so I tickled his tummy.... a I got peed on. First time he's done that. I just held my finger in the air repeating "ewe... I got peed on!", lol. I know I get pee on my hands evertime I touch them anyway, since their feet (and the rest of them) are probably covered in it, lol.

Amie its all part of their love thing honest, they are marking you as their human - they only do it when they trust and bond with you - ewww as it may seem - thank god dogs dont do it !!!!! Deguconvert you made me spray my coffee over the work screen with your "degu" dialogue i was almost in tears STOP IT WOMAN .... You have such refined and well brought up goo's - mine dont even go through the motions (pardon the pun) of pretending to be desperate for a wee they just wee and run - a bit like wash and go !!! I like to think of it like bombing runs. Wing commander Bubbles goes in first to make sure the coast is clear - no enemy fghters - in the right arm around the back and up and out of the left arm - no flak no casualties and yes he drops his bomb and he is back in the cage to cheers of the remaining squadron ready for their run. ;D

Mine groom my fingers if I am in trouble - e.g. if I am transporting them via a tube back to their cage or to the area I put them whilst I clean their cage out.
