I am super excited! A couple weeks or a month and a half ago my boyfriend and i adopted or bought 2 degu's,my dad and i had a big fight about them at first he didn't want me to have any animals but i couldn't just leave them there at the pet store, the cage was way to small to hold two degu's who have bundles of energy. Besides when i found out she was pregnant well that was it . After a agreement for me to lose weight since I'm prediabetic i was able to raise them,i made sure everything was quiet and such and the two cats and dog we got didn't go into the room. The babies are almost 3 weeks old so either today or in a few day's i'm going to start handling them,i just recently moved into my boyfriend's apartment so i get to maybe keep more then 1. I'm gonna put the mom back with the dad so we can have more babies. There soooooooooooo cute! I'll try to take pics today And post them on here. ;D

Well done on giving these Degu's a better life and congratulations on your little bundle of joy. I'm gonna put the mom back with the dad so we can have more babies. There soooooooooooo cute! I would strongly suggest that you give mum a break and wait until next year before you breed her again. You shouldn't let your Degu have more then one litter per year. Pregnancy is a huge strain on any mother and not letting her have a break between litters could result in complications for both her and the unborn pups. Until then you could keep her with a daughter from your current litter (if there are any), this would keep her company and her daughter would likely assist mum with her next litter. If you want to know more about breeding degu's here is a good site to look at; www.degutopia.co.uk/degubreedhow.htm
