i got bit again the other day and it got me thinking how would i go about filing degu teeth down so threes no sharp edges at the moment there not flat but they go up in the middle and have to very sharp pointy bits at ether side of each tooth

i wouldn't like to say, but do you goo's have loads of wood to chew? I had to take one of my girls, to the vets, as she had a really long bottom tooth, and he used some type of circular disc. He said if the teeth are cut, they can splinter, and infect the gums, so if i was in your shoes, i'd take your little fellow to the vets. Oh and even if they are flat, it will still hurt lol x

Same as NM said...and don't get your degu's teeth filed or cut down for any reason except THEIR own health. It'd be a waste of time if it was for your safety as their teeth are continually growing so it'd mean you'd be getting them filed regularly.
Fill their cage with chewable wood, add in pumice for gnawing at, anything you can...they'll do the job naturally
