Hello i noticed this funny bit on my female degu last night does anyone have an idea what it could be? im sure there is no way she could have trapped it and there dosent seem to be blood aound it and its pretty firm and didnt seem to cause her pain when i touch it but it looks like it has bunched up and puffed out. The pics are very small, hard to see the problem clearly. But it looks like she may have caught it in something, not sure what though, as you said you don't think she could have trapped it. Sorry i couldn't be more help.

It looks as though it might be broken to me, she may have landed on it awkwardly, I'd deffo take her to the vet to get it checked out

Yeah, I agree, I have to say. It has very odd angles, and a normal degu tail is angle free. It does look as though it were pinched in something, like the friction fit wire doors on many cages, or perhaps between their wheel and whatever? It wouldn't hurt to have it looked at, she may need anti-inflamatories or something like so it can heal. That said though, degus don't usually need much attention for an injured tail, at least for tails that are degloved. Even just a call to your vet could give you a direction to pursue.
