It looks like i will have to take my fellas to the vets for the first time to get the teeth taken down a bit. Just want to ask what is the average price for this in the uk, and can i just turn with them and they will do it while i wait. Thanks...

A degu consultation cost about £11 at my vets, but i think that's cheaper than average. It depends on how docile the degu is, whether they can do it without any anasthesia, also depends whether it's front teeth or molars. Most vets are very helpful if you want to ring and ask questions, it's also OK to ring and ask about prices and ask whether they have much experience with degus. Burring uses a sort of grinding machine, I think they use this method quite a bit for rabbits, it avoids damaging the root.
