Hi well to add to our house we are looking to get a degu
I have built my own cage which is huge and takes up a good portion of the lounge and is being furnished as is required for our new furry friends.
feeding wise read a lot on the web but is the complete food from pets at home OK to feed them or do i need to be more creative?
should i make the degu work for treat? i.e hiding or burying them ?
Also if any one want to re home their degu(s) i would like to offer a home which i would prefer to buying one from a pet shop, or if any one knows of a rescue center in Shropshire with degus that would be cool to.
Gareth
p.s degu is not a known work in the spell check ;D

hi hun, i give my boys P@H nuggets, each day, along with either herby or chamomile hay, also from P@H's. They do a woodlands collection, salad feast being one of them, which i sprinkle over the floor of their cage, so they have to hunt for it Oh, and for their breakfast, they have shreddies! welcome to the world of goo's, and we'd love to see pics of your cage. (sent you a pm, about wanting goo's)

hey i get my food from zooworld.co.uk its a brill its all herby but i also give them petas at homes degu nuggets. The seem to prefer the nuggets as a treat for some reason!!!! There is a rescue centre on her in wales that has lots to be rehomed and they are already grouped so you wont have to worry about solo ones having to be introduced, have a look on here though and good luck finding your companions

hi all , thanks for the welcome have two degu's now thanks to andrew and THEY ARE ACE i love them they have been in the lounge for 4 days now and they will come over to see me and eat out of my hand, my boys love them and will sit and watch for ages , my eldest even went as far as saying they were better than the xbox !!
i have a couple of questions
they are both male and fight is this just playing or sorting pack order ? they sleep together and groom each other.
they also fight for food so i started putting the same food in the cage in the same bowl but n separate parts of the cage is this ok?
thanks
gareth
