Hello to everyone here, have been popping in and getting lots of useful info in the last weeks - so firstly thankyou to all for posting !!
I discovered Degus for the 1st time recently while on a trip to see the 'furries' at our local garden centre. The kids have wanted pets for years and straight away I knew these would be the thing for our family. The girl was fantastic telling us all about them. I came away feeling excited and wondering how to convince hubby. So my research started and a few days later we took hubby to meet the degus - and even he was drawn by them. So we came away again after the girl getting them out and spending ages talking to us about the nature and care - she was brill. So hubby started talking about where we would keep them etc (I was shocked!!) he really was taken by them too.
So I had been looking in to cages and houses and was finding it hard to find something I was comfortable with - size price etc. So on wednesday off we went to have a look at some more cages and came away in love with 2 boys!!! I was looking for cages not degus!! so we came home and went to another shop to look at more cages and bought one - and then drove back up the motorway to buy our boys!!
So now we are the proud owners of 2 boys - Pipsqueek and Torres (can you tell which my son and daughter named!!??) They seem to have settled well, came out for a play tonight ( one more so than the other) and have spent the last few hours really enjoying their new pressie today - a wheel. Must admit I was scared to touch them at first but give it a few weeks and I am sure we will all be one big happy family!
Just looking now at 2 sleepy boys cuddling up - so sweet!!
Looking forward to dropping in here and being inspired!
Thanks all x
