I remember someone mentioning to put it on the food when you give it to the degu's. I could only find soft gels and I took a needle to the gelcap and squeezed what i could out of it on their pellet mix so they wouldnt fight over it.
Boy do my girls love it! Its funny because they dig through the pieces trying to find the ones with the most oil on them.
Does anyone know how frequently and how much to add to their weekly diet?

You know I vaguely remember that being mentioned some time ago as well. I have no idea how much you can do a week though. I think I wouldn't do more than one soft gel a week . . . then if you do happen to find information that indicates you can use more, then go for it. Hmmm . . . think I might have to give this a try as well. I remember it mentioned that it is really good for them. Thanks for bringing this up again, TiffaLynn!

From Degutopia... www.degutopia.co.uk/deguhealth.htm4. Give each degu evening primrose oil- Another way to promote shiny coats and healthy skin is to give your degus a supplement of a few drops of evening primrose oil every month in their feed. You can also apply it directly to the skin to help degus with dry skin problems.
