I give my degus a salad type thing twice a week now and each time they eat one or two things and that's it?! They just don't like it. I've tried loads of different veggies and spent loads of money on them (spent £10 this week on veg to try them on) and they didn't like any... I've seen Joe eat some green pepper and seen them both eat some carrot but that's it. They like the dandelions and grass but that's it. Is it OK to feed them the same stuff over and over? I mean if they like it then it's fine right? and I have dried dried herbs, I tried basil, parsley and another which I can't remember what it's called right now.

My 3 wont touch anything fresh! but they love dried herbs and dandelions. I give mine a small scattering of dandelions and fresh herbs once a week as a treat and they never get bored of it. Not seen anything that says its wrong to give them the same thing all the time. If that's what they'll eat then why not!? The fresh herbs ive tried are basil, parsley and mint, and once they worked out what they were and got used to the smell they disappeared quick. I mixed mine into the hay, so they knew it was edible!

I found some things my girls love fresh, but wont touch it dried. Some things they wont touch fresh, but on the other side love it dried. some things are neutral either way They are my lil punks! I love em for it I have been looking around the site an the web and writing my own little guide in a binder of foods they can and cannot have, along with woods and other things, so that when i go to shopping I can just grab that guide an go. Since ive moved out west its alot drier an i leave things set on top the screen on top their cage and it dries over night practically
