threw a few burgess excel guinea pig pellets with oregano in with the usual p@h degu pellets this morning when i got home the bowl was void of the excell but all the p@h degu stuff was still there are these ok as a main part of their food ? or just an occasional treat ? they obviously like them but i dont want to be giving them anything thats not good for them

not sure about other people, but i wouldn't feed my goo;s anything other than degu nuggets. I think you've just learnt a good lesson too, don't mix any food/treats with their normal food, as they won't eat lol.
I made a terrible mistake, a few month back, I took on a large group and they all ate the mixed food, felt a bit sorry for my boys, so gave them some, oh dear, it took me over a week, to convince my boys, their nuggets where better for them than the mix, so have never done it again. if you want to give them some, as a treat, i;d give it them by hand, or hide, just a few pieces throughout the cage xx

They go nuts for it now.

I give mine Xtravital or Jr Farm special mixed in with their nuggets sometimes, but not everyday. They do eat their nuggets still...
