Pip testing the CCH out: Like the standard hammock, all you need is: - 2 pieces of fabric
- Thread
- Eyelets
1) Using rectangles of material, cut a 'V' into one of the long sides, making both pieces of fabric roughly equal. Pin the fabric together so the faces you want on the outside of the finished hammock are facing each other: 2) Mark a guide-line around the hammock a cm from the edge, leaving a 5cm (2 inch) gap on one side: 3) Sew round the guide-lines, starting at one end of the gap and finishing at the other: 4) Turn the fabric inside out: 5) Sew around the entire hammock as close to the edge as you can to close up the gap: 6) Optional Quilt the fabric by diagonally sewing the fabric, turning it 90 degrees and sewing it diagonally again: 7) Pin and sew up the V edge to each other (if you don't quilt the hammock then it may be easier to do this during step 5): 8) Add eyelets to all four corners as seen in the eyelet tutorial: deguworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Cage&thread=16698

Lol that's if it gets in today, Pippin decided he can jump out of the playpen so I can't clean them out or rearrange things incase he escapes again until we add height to it... The OHs sawing was shocking to say the least

I love love loveeee this hammock!!!!!! I so want to try to learn how to sew! Haha my hammock cost me like 20$+ and they've ripped up the inside fairly well. It'd be so much more fun and cheaper to just make a few of these to switch out!

I'm sure you could learn to sew with a machine quite quickly, Dyz. You only need to learn how to thread the top thread, how to insert the bottom spool of thread, and how to fill the bottom spool thing. The stitch types and stitch length are all labelled on the machine, so that's just setting a couple of dials. Making degu stuff would be ideal for learning, because it's not crucial how neat anything turns out!
