my boys have the most disgusting habit, I wont give details but other people who own male degus know exactly what I'm getting at. The most disgusting bit is that they seem to lick their lips afterwards, I think there should be a written warning about it when you buy them from Pets at Home. Dirty little sods.

our boys do this too - and they love to do it in front of visitors - little show offs!

It's not really "disgusting" in the true sense of the word. It's just apart of nature like how dogs will hump peoples legs and so on lol.

It is quite a natural thing.. but got to admit though their timing is something special! Was at P@H the other day to get, hmm, dried broccolli I think, anyhow, as usual had a look at the rodents, so, there I was ah, how cute a hamster all snuggly, a mouse all energetic, a gerbil pleasuring himself If it were a kid instead of me I would have loved to try and hear the parents explain that one away!

The worst part is when they chew it after, lol.

I'm lucky that if mine do it I have yet to see them. They have their own "degu room" so cannot show off whilst we have company over lol.
