Hello, hello everyone. I got a new camera today so I took a couple of pictures of the newest members of the clan. Here are 3 pictures of the boys (2 of Drumstick and 1 of Roger- he's a bit shy). Since I got them from 2 different rehoming centres i'm still going through the introduction process, but hopefully soon they'll realise how much they love each other and move in together. I also have a question for ya'll, out of all my degus only 1 (Big-Chief Little-Tail does this). When she's sleeping she often makes a continuous, high-pitch squeaking noise. She does this quite alot and I've never noticed any of the others doing it. I just assumed she was dreaming, but was just wondering if anyone else's furry children did the same and what they thought of it? Apologies if the photos are too small, i had to make them smaller, but don't know how small they will appear xx Attachments:

Ok, don't know what I've done, there should be 2 more, apologies again xx In fact, if anyone can tell me how i can add more than one photo at a time that would be grand. It would seem I find simple things difficult. Thank you xx Attachments:

Hello lisa! Cute pics! About your question, does big-chief little-tail live with female degus? and if so have you double checked her sex yourself just to make sure she is in fact a female? My degu (called Phyllis at the time) used to make a continuous high pitched squeak at night, which turned out to be the mating bark! Phyllis is now called Ernie and I've recently had 8 pups! They were 2 weeks old on sat.

Yo yo yo, thanks for the link amie, will attempt more pictures soon.
I'm 99.99999% Big-chief Little tail and Tblisi are both females. We got them in March from P@H and they told us they were around 5 months old and had been there for ages. The 2 of them live together and have done apparently all their days. Although I did do another check when I got back in from work, because it was floating about my head all day, but yes they are definetly female (thank god). Would love to see photos of your pups philbailey1806?? Are their ears too big for their heads, I think that's soooooo cute ;D

These are from the day after they were born, the little tykes, I'll more than likely post up some new pics on sat when they're 3 weeks old, as unfortunately it looks like I might have to give up 4 boys We werent prepared for any babies, never mind 8.

When our boys were little pups, I used to hear what sounded almost like singing coming from them. I'd go over and have a look to see what was going on, but they were asleep!! Thought I was going nuts, but then while I watched them one day, sure enough, the sound was coming from one of them (not sure which) and it sounded like the singing of a small bird. Once they got older, it stopped and I haven't heard it since. I thought it was really pretty.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww they are so face meltingly cute. I don't like human children but if i could have degus, i totally would all the time. That's a shame about the 4 boys, do you have anyone who would take them (phil)? As for Little tail, she's not squeaked since the last time I mentioned it but I have my camera right next to the cage so if she does start it again I'll try record it. It's quite funny when she does it, it's like hiccups although it does get quite loud, so if i'm in bed and she starts it sounds like when the smoke detector is running out of batteries and it just goes on and on and on. Oh and I was feeding roger some oats today from my hand and with my other hand i went to stroke him and as with all of them I got shoved out the way, but oh my god he shoves so hard, I'm pretty sure he could break a pencil in half with just his 2 front paw/claws.

lol, they're a lot stronger than you think aren't they! Unfortunately I don't know anyone that will take them, so I'm going to advertise them on here sat (3 weeks old) and if I haven't got a definate taker by 6 weeks I'm afraid they're gonna have to go P@H at least they're 4 boys though so sexing mistakes can't happen.

Hey ho, I'm sorry to hear you have to give them away . I hope you find someone to take them. Where do you live (phil)? If you weren't to far away I'd bully my boyfriend into letting me adopt more. Are you looking to rehome only the babies or the dad as well? I really hope you don't have to take them to P@H. Keep me updated how the search is going though
