6. Other pets a) I have a house full of cats b) I have a rabbit, two gerbils, a tortoise and five goldfish c) I've never had any pets d) I have two goldfish I find this question misleading and unhelpful. Before getting my degus I had two beautiful rats, I grew up in a house with 7 dogs 13 cats hamsters a rat several fish and birds and I think the basic principles of animal care are transferrable to all pets.Am I being naive in this assumtion? It isn't asking you that to see if you know about basic animal care I believe it is asking you to see if you have animals that may disrupt the degus. I dislike the question also though. I have multiple rooms for a reason! Ah yes I see where you're coming from. Maybe c) could be rephrased as 'c) I have no other pets'. Less confusing I think.

from the vids Ive seen Goo's chase cats anyway not saying that they should be left alone with cats (I certanly wouldn't with my excelent mouser Clyde as it would break my heart if he hurt the girls and I wouldn't be able to trust him ever again) but I would like to belive that we are all responsable pet owners here and wouldn't risk harming them in any way so why ask that question??

I know this is an older post.. And idk If this will be read.. But today I was browsing degutopias website and (not that I'm an expert whatsoever..) I got a couple answers wrong.. And there were quite a few questions and answers that were ridiculous. Like most were just confusing and really stupid lol but whateva. Degutopia does have some other neat things on their website though so I guess they're not all that bad

I'm not ready for degus because of this answer I have to order degu food and bedding on the internet Well I have some petshops around but I'm buying stuff that are known as best on the internet (top rated degu food). Anyway sellers in pet shops here are trying to sell me food and treats with sugar and fruit all the time so I quit searching it there and I rather order it I'm sure someone that don't know degus well (a lot of people think they're like hamsters and they just buy them to have them in small cage and forget they're there) will buy feed that food that seller said it's good. Once I went to search top rated food. And seller told me, they don't have degu food from that company, but I can buy mice food from the same company, convincing me it's just as good That's why internet orders. I won't make anymore profit to that jerks.

I agree with you aya. Since my two have stopped eating P@H nuggets I buy all their food off the internet, and it arrives within 3 days not 6 - 8 weeks!! These days you can buy pretty much everything off the internet. Yes, I do know it's not for everybody but don't tell somebody you are not ready for degus just because you buy their food off the internet. Utter toss!
And bedding. So, I shall buy expensive bedding from the pet shop, or buy finacard which lasts me five months for a fraction of the price.
I do get what she's saying, but just to say you're not ready.
I've just been through that quiz and they're the most random, bollocks, unhelpful questions I've ever seen

Oh, and another thing (yup, I'm on a rant!). Just went onto the beginner degu care quiz. The first question is:
1. What should you feed your degus? a) Hamster/gerbil mix b) Rabbit mix c) Guinea pig mix d) Chinchilla mix
Hmm, I thought the obvious answer would have been e) Degu mix!
And the final question:
5. When you let your degus out of their cage, what is the main thing you should make sure they have? a) A dustbath b) Places to hide c) Something for them to climb on d) Something for them to eat
Apparently the answer is a! I honestly would never have picked that one seeing as you can give them a dustbath inside or outside the cage. I would have chosen b so they feel secure.
Again what utter rubbish questions.
