Got home from work tonight and Joe and Jimmy came to the cage door for a treat. Charlie was interested but not jumping all over like normal. Gave them all a treat and Charlie seemed to eat it very slowly (normally wolfs it down like it's the only bit of food left on earth). He's had a couple of sunflower seeds since - again struggled with them. Definitely isn't his usual self. I'm assuming it's probably something to do with his back teeth as his front teeth seem fine. I've tried mushing up some nuggets but he doesn't seem interested. Hoping to get an appointment with the vet tomorrow. Quite worried about him now!

Oh that doesn't sound very good does it Please let us know what the vet says, and I think you're right in that something is irritating his mouth such as his teeth.

Thanks Smux!
Just went over to their cage when I got up and Charlie was the first one at the door this morning - wolfed down two treats and a twig with no problems. He was being his usual cheeky self and trying to escape!
Not sure if he just had an off day yesterday or what?!

Aw, I'm so glad he's feeling better today! Sometimes my edna does the same thing, but it's usually because she's just had a good feed before I've offered her a treat! She comes to the door and you can see on her face that she really wants the treat, but she'll eat it really slow like she's struggling, I think poor Charlie might just have had a good feed before you tempted him over with a treat thats all lol.

He did seem lethargic last night - just not interested in anything and kept rubbing his mouth so definitely thought something was up. Think I'm a bit paranoid after Billy went downhill so rapidly last year.
Got in from work tonight to find the three of them had decided to start fighting - Charlie has a small wound on his face, jimmy has a sore back leg and Joe has some fur missing! So i have separated Joe from the younger two and will see how they get on.
Why they decided to pick today I've no idea - I was stressed enough with Charlie without this as well! Bloody goos!
