Thanks Fred and I really agree with the 3 points you've made aswell! If I know anything about degus she'll more than likely be pregnant already, although she won't show untill she's in her last 3-4 weeks.

Thanks guys. I will get 1 more cage (that will be 3) just in case. I think, I will keep them together for now, and will learn more about breeding and pregnant degus. I'll get her checked at the vet in about 3 days, to see if anything has happened already. If not, I'll just go with the flow. It's her choice and the males' choice for her to have babies, not mine Just cross your fingers and hope for the best! THANK YOU ALOT! This helped me understand what to do if she did get pregnant!

How long have you had them together? Degus generally have a 90 day gestation period, and at least 60 of those days they show nothing to be different. During the last 30 days they will change almost daily in size. Some get so that they look as though they have swallowed a tennis ball, or soft ball, before they are ready to deliver. I don't know how a vet determines whether or not a degu is pregnant . . . but I guess you will likely find out. I hope it goes well for you!

Hmmm, from what I've read on the net, I've heard a vet can tell if a female is pregnant by gently "feeling" underneath her belly. I'm not sure I'm keen on this as the pressure may cause miscarriage, as might the stress of a car journey and being poked at by a stranger, plus theres a bill to boot. Drinking more water is a tell- tale sign that a female is pregnant. Have you ever heard your males let out a repetative "bark"? Also, with regards to getting fatter, where is the wieght distributed? Generally a pregnant goo is nornal size up top, around the head, shoulders and fore-paws and is bigger around her belly and hips. Also the extra weight is sort of lumpy and uneven looking, and slightly firmer to the touch? If she's pregnant she should resemble a teardrop shape from above.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted!

Well, they've been together for about 3 1/2 weeks now? Maybe less? Somewhere between 2 weeks-3 1/2 weeks. I got her checked, and the vet said to bring her back in 1 week... I'm not sure why. But I'm going to before my trip (in 4 days! ;D ). I think she will have babies, and if I figure out she IS pregnant, I will start looking for homes. I hope there's enough... What is the average amount of babies a female has in her litter?

Ya sorry about last post... She was getting bigger from stealing food from the boys But she is drinking more water. I`m not sure if it`s from that, though.

did you ever find out if your female got pregnant? I'm sure everything will be fine, they look after their babies very well without any help, in fact it's probably best that they're left to their own devices.
