Thankyou everybody for the comments! How long would you recommend leaving them smux? Would mum and babies be happier if, say I put mum with the babies in a box just for a short period of time while I gave the nest box a quick clean and put in some fresh bedding? mum trusts me, she didnt mind me having a look and I even managed to coax her out the nest with a treat shortly after giving birth then I could have a sneaky peek lol. the nest smells funny you see and im a little concerned about the young ones in a nest with the blood.

Oww yay pictures Also what colour are they as i'm sure I saw you saying you thought they might have blue in them, as the breeder who sells them to P@H started selling blues just after you'd bought them? (correct me if i'm wrong)

Hello Kovu! You never miss a trick! lol, theyre all VERY agouti, theyre heads are very brown, but as of yet the bodies have dark fur on, so at least one adult is more than likely double dominant agouti, meaning some of the babies may be carriers if the other adult is a blue carrier, but as they won't be bred from, I suppose we'll never know.

no, I didn't want to disturb them too much, was just a case of scoop em into a shoe box, count em, take a few photos, clean out the nest box and put them back in the cage. I kept mum with them so they didnt get stressed. I'll sex them in a week or so, when I give the cage a good clean, and then probs get a post set up with free babies to a good home! (when theyre roughly 6 weeks of course) because I no way have the room to keep 10 including mum and dad unfortunately

If you want to upload the pictures download the imageshack uploader : imageshack.us/content.php?page=uploader (i think you may have to make an account but it's free and easy) and then install it > drag and drop your images into where it says > click upload when youve got them all there > then go through each picture and copy and paste the code from each picture where it says "thumbnail for forums" and paste it on here and it will upload the pictures regardless of the size!! I hope this helps - if you get stuck just let me know! We can't wait to see them

Sophie ur a genius thanks for the help! The biggest of the litter fell asleep on my dads arm as you can see, he wanted to handle one as I was putting them back. Look how big he is! hes not even 24hrs old in that pic, and my dads hands are like shovels! lol
