oh dear, more missexed degus. Yes its best to remove the males after females have given birth for at least 24 hrs or they can make the females pregnant again during post partum oestrus but after this time, the males can be introduced back into the cage and will help raise the young and shouldn't get the females pregnant again untill they have been weened (5-6 weeks) and yes, I agree with smux, the females will help eachother out with their litters and even feed eachothers young

I read that dad should be removed from baby girls as baby girls can become firtile at a just a couple of weeks old if they are in good living conditions with a good food supply. I wouldnt put dad in at all, just let the 2 girls stay together and look after the babies.

It's actually the exact flip of that, Smux. Female pups can be fertile and able to conceive as early as 6 weeks age, when born into a strong and healthy environment with lots of good food on ready supply. Male do not mature early though, and will not begin to be sexually maturing until they are reaching their 6th month of age. So the female pups definitely need to be out of reach of their father by age 6 weeks. Male pups are not as urgent, but should still be separated by 12 weeks age so as not to drive their mother nuts.

You know your girls can get preg again? Even if the males are out for a few days? I notice smux comment about Theresa. Id seriously contemplate keeping them separated. Even if your ok with the girls having more babies its not good for them to have more than one litter in a year.

Its up to you, but id honestly keep the boys out. Its not worth the risk to your girls health, plus you could be left with lots of babies that you may not be able to rehome. It would also be a drain on the girls if they are bringing up their babies and are preg.

Did you remove the males before she gave birth? and are there any males still in with the female who is yet to give birth?
I would keep the males away from the females for a few days, to let the females adjust and allow them to focus on their babies.
