We haven't got plans at the moment and when we do go it's usually for no more than 4 days but occasionally we go for a week or 10 days. The cage is too big to be taken anywhere really. What do you do? Do you get someone to come and feed them?

Well when I got Joe and Olly I decided I would stay at home when my family go on holiday, which sucks in a way but it's not too bad because I get time on my own You can get sitters, ask friends to look after them, write them a list... they may get overwhelmed by everything we do for our little guys but I'm sure they can stay in their cage for a few days as catching the goo's may be a bit hard for them and if they escaped it wouldn't be too good.

We have some friends that we have called on to come in and check the house over, as well as feed the degus etc. Which reminds me, I better talk with them and see if I can "book" them for a block of time this summer.

I'm having trouble finding a holiday home for my goos. I have got them a holiday cage, as mine is too big to move. I think its a problem for a lot of people unless you know someone who can look after them

I couldn't go on holiday without my pets. They are part of my family and they go with me. I always make sure my caged animals are allowed or I just don't go. Had same problem with my cat's but had a lady who did not mind us taking them to her Caravan so was lucky and we went every year till she sold it. Now I just have my Goo's now it should be easier to find a place that won't mind us takeing them with us I hope.

I'm going away for two weeks in August.
I personally, have two options: For a few years, my cousin and his girlfriend have stayed over at our house and used it as their own. So if they do they same this year, I'll be letting them loose with my naughty goos! Or, if they don't stay (unlikely) my neighbour is coming in every day to feed and check on my boys.
I'm honestly not bothered which option it comes down too, my neighbour has already agreed to look after them if my Cousin doesn't stay. I'm writing a list either way, just a simple one. (10 grams of food at 10am and 6pm. Empty, clean and refill water bottles everyday etc.)
I'm quite picky when it comes to my Goos, so I'll only let people I trust look after them - which is why I'm not looking for an animal boarding house or anything.

I take my animals with me. I have a few carry cage's that they stay in and get time to come out. If it's not poss then I get my uncle who lives over the road to come to my flat twice a day to check on the animals and also sort out water and food

hi i have chins and goos and if you are only going away for a few days i would suggest getting a family member or a frined just too come and change the food and water for them each day. If you are going for a week or 2 there are places like rodent hotels you can put them in where they will look after your pets for you get them out for abit each day i have my chins booked in at one of these places the women who runs it is rly nice she looks after all small furries she even has a few rabbits that ppl have left with her and never came back for and canceld there check on her ( only excepts cash now )
