Hi all have just joined the forum as it look like a good forum and thought it’s about time I done something like this.
Being the owner of 4 chins now which 3 of them I have just come across by accident, in which I’m having some problems. My original chin is called Basil a two year old who has a big appetite for a female, but love him to bits.
We came across 3 other chin by accident over the weekend there is 1 male 2years old and 2 females 1 is 3years and the other one is coming up to 3 years and already had 3 litters of kits and might be pregnant again. They all have been in the same caged together before I got them, but they didn’t seem to be happy together and there was a bit of bullying going on, so I have taken the one out who might be pregnant and tried to pair her with Basil, but that did not go to well as it all started to kick off with both on them.
I have got her in a cage on her own now next to Basil’s cage and starting over again to get them friendly with each other, but realise this is going to take time. The other two are really funny if I attempted to separate them they really get protected for each other and start barking and hissing at me, all they want to do is cuddle up together and do nothing else. I’m not a complete expert on chin and did not want to go into breeding but I have been put in a situation where this might happen with the one who might be.
They don’t seem to have been named so I have named all three of them and talk to them all the time, Willow the might be pregnant one responds to me when I talk to her and stroke her, but Scruff and Cookie are not interested at the moment, each time I go up to their cage they bark and snap at me even sometimes when I put their food in the cage.
I know they all need time to settle in to their new home but I just want to know if there is more I can do for them or am I doing things wrong
Many thanks Sarn.
