Try olive or canola oil. This will stop the squeeking for a few days.

I personally use to use Vaseline on my plastic wheel back when I had one.

Hi i have been doing the intros all is well at the min i have just put the pups in Shermans cage! It seams that one of the pups is wanting to be the dominent one so is having a few scuffles with Sherman but nothing serious it looks like Sherman is unwilling to let this happen lol. The other wee one is happy to let Sherman groom him and hump him even lies on this back under Sherman its really cute! There is a lot of sqeeking going on in there right now chasing and humping between Sherman and the dom one the other is happily exploring and playing on the wheel :-) . I have made a video just figuring out how i put it on here for you all to watch :-) Im still waiting for the pups to stay still long enought to get a good pic lol there so fast lol! I see wat you mean about them being vocal it sounds like i have birds in the house not degu lol I love to hear them talking its so sweet. I will let you know how there getting on more later tonight xx P.S if you think i need any advice then please let me know. Thanks Jo

I can well imagine this It can get a little noisy here as well with six crazy degu girls chatting to the very loud guinea pigs in the next room. And with the massive filter in the 75 gallon tank (not to mention the filters from the other tanks) there is always the sound of rushing water in the background. This adds up to a noisy environment...at first I didnt think much of it, but when I began to notice that my house was able to compete with the noise level in the massive pet shop nearby, I realized this wasnt normal The worst is when the crickets (food for the two lizards) are making their noises at night. The degus go wild and the guinea pigs just add to the ruckus. I think they enjoy driving me mad... Totally off topic...lol, sorry about that ;D

The crickets are live? Oh man I couldn't cope with that I am petrified of most insects. I think insects have to be alive as it is better for them then bought frozen ones I think? I did look at a few videos to do with lizards a while ago.

When we had our Water Dragon, We let him out most nights, and once my hubby had fed him then let him out and left the door open, so of course all the crickets and locusts which had just put in had escaped all through our bedroom!, I hated it!!
All through the night i was petrified trying to get him to catch them, crickets I dont find too bad however I hate Locusts yuck!!!

All is quiet in the degu house all fur balls are snuggling in the hammock aaww its lovely :-) only i cant get any pics yet babies Buddy- my wee shy guy and Barney- the dominant 1 lol because they are still jumpy when i sneek over to get a hammock pic lol. Sherman stays put then when i walk away defeted they jump back in with Sherman there teesing me i think hehe! So all went well with the intros and i think that Barney is top goo he certainly acts it! im just glad they all get on its wonderfull having a little degu family again :-)
Anyway i see we are talking about other animals aswell now lol i have never had any reptiles but i do like them wonderfull looking creatures when i go to the pet shop i always go for a nosy at them! I once looked after my friends Corn snake called Mia she was a lovely mixed colour of red orange and yellow. I didnt want to give her back i fell for her just not her taste in food eeeek i had to give her teeny tiny frozen mice!
