I went up to check on George this morning and he isn't opening one of his eyes. It looks like he might have been in a bit of a scuffle with Goo's as his fur is cuffering over his eye which looks a bit mucky. I am unable to get an appointment until monday??

Hey Jack, Mowgli had the same problem - turns out he had conjunctivitis which was possibly caused by baloo over grooming n probably scratching his eye. He is on antibiotic drops atm - 1 a night for 5 days. If youve got some sterile saline solution (like the stuff contact lense wearers use to rinse the lens) them u can wipe carefully around the eye with that to try to clear the muck around the eye (dont touch the eyeball itself). Hope you get it sorted 2moro.

Hopefully the vet will offer some fucithalmic ointment or drops and that should sort it if its an infection honey I use Optrex for infected eyes in the short term until I can get to the vets Hope the little lad is ok

Thanks Susie thats what the Vet has given me. I woke up this morning to find that his eye was completely fine (the Dave's must have given him a good clean). After spending about a hour trying to catch him to put him in the travel cage we finally got to the vets 20mins late. After a struggle and a orange eye he came home for a nice play and ended up falling asleep outside of the cage so not long put him back lol. Thanks again

Ya know . . . I've noticed that happens with kids too. You take them to the Dr. because they are nearly hacking up a lung every 10 minutes, then you walk into the waiting room at the clinic and they're silent. Move from the waiting room into the examination room and they suddenly drop from a 102 degree fever to 98.6, there is no more wheezing like a 90 yr old with emphicema, and they have enough energy to climb walls. Just in time for the Dr. to come in and give you that most endearing facial expression that says . . . "Good grief!! ANOTHER parnoid mother!"
Yeah well . . . the last time I got that look and the Dr. swabbed my daughter's throat to keep the paranoid mother quiet, she tested positive for strep!! HA HA!! But . . . she still looked bright and healthy, her fever was suddenly MIA, and she was ready to guzzel vinegar because her throat felt just fine. Must be the tell tale odor of the clinical strength cleaner they use that chases away the ickyness . . . . ??
