Taylor & Marshall 45 High St Shifnal Shropshire TF11 8BL 01952 460781
Done wonder's with my degu this week. Extremely knowledgeable about degu's and very caring. Couldn't have asked for a better vet. Very glad I found this place.

I spoke with Michelle at www.northlands-vets.co.uktoday and she apparently has some experience of degus and has done a couple of successful neuters before. She has more experience of chinchillas but is reasonably familiar with degus. A friend of mine has lots of rats and Michelle is very willing to learn and research and having met and chatted with her today I will take Norman there to be neutered if I decide to go down that route. She was in Raunds near wellingborough today but also works in their other branches in rushden and somewhere else whose name escapes me.

For anyone in Kent I would recommend Clive Munns at Montgomery Veterinary Clinic Evegate Business Park Smeeth Kent TN25 6SX 01303 813756 www.montgomeryvets.co.ukClive has an additional qualification in Zoo medicine so is used to dealing with exotics and has treated a number of degus. I feel confident he knows what he is talking about and being a small practice they seem to have time for you.

This is where I take all my Goos, they are small animal certified.Ask for Sarah she is one of the small animal certified vets. She is fantastic, She has had Degus herself and knows her stuff. She has neutered two of my boys and is busy caring for one of my sick Degu's Vicor.

Lawrie Vets 25 griffiths street Falkirk FK1 5QY Tel: 01324 624361
Or: Lawrie Vets Kenilworth Court North Carbrain Rd Cumbernauld G67 1bp Tel: 01236 727876
They are based in central Scotland
The name of the vet that you would need to see is Alisdair Lawrie, he is an exotics Vet with many years experience, Degus being one of his interests. I have been taking my Degus to see Alisdair for several years now and he has saved more than one of them in this time, he really is very knowledgeable and understanding and I have yet to present him with a problem that he cannot find an answer to.

I would second the recommendation on page 1 of Lyn at Damory Vets in Blandford, Dorset. Also David Holah at Piddle Valley Vets in Puddle Town, nr Dorchester in Dorset. www.piddlevalleyvets.co.uk/

I have to agree, Kins!! Although . . . it elicits visions of puddles of piddle, which would be rather smelly and a constant source of annoyance. Wouldn't want to be their janitor.
