I had to laugh at Rosita growing 'til she explodes! I thought Mocha was a male. About a week before giving birth she was so round and bloated looking I thought I had given my "boy" a bad, bad case of gas by feeding him too much wheat grass!! I was worried sick that I'd allowed "him" to get soo fat and bloated!!!! A few more days took care of that when my poor little "boy" gave birth to nine babies!!
How far along is Rosita? When do you expect the babies will be born?

wow, more christmas baby degus, isnt it exciting! Makes me really wish I had females to breed, but as I keep on telling people, its never good to breed just because the idea of having babies is fun!

Believe me, be gratefull you have boys!!!!! Why? Are you refering about all the worries associated with the females getting pregnant and giving birth? That I can well understand! I'm very happy with my two girls. No fighting just a little grumbling now and then. Both are aggressive about food but don't hurt one another. The babies are so darned cute and so much fun to watch as they grow. I loved it when they would pile up on my hand to take a nap. Would'nt want to go through it again though. Not as easy as I had hoped to place in new forever homes.

Oh i dont regret having my babys, i woulnt swap it for the world! But yes i do mean the whole breeding thing and the heartbreak at the end when i had to find homes for them! Im glad ive had the experience of Taquilas babys, but boy it was hard work, you know what i mean Ra, the hardest part was saying goodbye
