I'm so sorry you and Theo lost your battle! I think you made the right decision - the tongue would have been hindering both eating/drinking and breathing. When they become ill with lumps and growths, and they progress quickly, it is a losing battle. Theo knows you cared, and can be grateful for a quick end whilst he still felt himself

OH NO!! I'm so deeply sorry!! I know it is difficult to comprehend and accept, especially when he was seemingly turning the corner! I grieve with you, and truly am sorry for your loss!

Hi everyone, thank you for your comments. I avoided coming back on here for a few weeks because it is hard to think about him at the moment but I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write some comforting words for a complete stranger. We have had him cremated and his ashes are interred with his brother Murphy. I'm planning to come on here again at some point and post some photos of him from happier times so I can share him as I want to remember him. Thanks again to everyone

Those will be lovely to see and share with you, Skittish. Grieving is so difficult, and it helps when you can share things with people that know what your grief is about. You can share your memories freely here. Don't be afraid to reach out to me or any one of us through DM if you just want a private conversation. We all know and understand your loss. We are here for you!

It's nice to know he is back with Murphy. I'd love to see your photos whenever you feel up to it, it always takes me months and months to be able to look through photos after a loss.
