i came home from a business trip last night so my bf was watching my degu. i noticed that one of my girls wasn’t using her left hand, she just has it tucked up and won’t put pressure on it. i put her in a separate cage with no wheel but then after waking up this morning i felt really bad about keeping her alone. so i rearranged the main cage and took out the wheels and made it so there were no jumping hazards and now they are all back together. i can’t see the vet for a few days, do you think it will be able to heal on its own? i read that in the wild, rodents bones will normally heal on their own. i want to get her on pain meds at least but i can’t get them until i see the vet. what can i do for her and her pain for the next couple days?

I think that you've done pretty much what we would suggest that you do. I'm so glad you have everyone back together, she will be much happier that way! If you have something like a snugglesafe heat pad that she can cuddle up on, that will help to soothe her as well.
Is there any way to consult with your vet via phone, so that you might get a prescription for metacam to help her with pain?

It's impossible to predict if it will heal on its own or not without knowing what the injury is. They certainly can heal without too much intervension but things like a displaced fracture will never heal on their own. The vet will possibly feel over the area and perhaps articulate things to see if they are moving correctly or may just go straight for an xray.
A heatpad can encourage rest which would probably be a good thing.
