I'm so sorry, Bouncy! What an unexpected turn of events, and so hard on Spidey! I hope he will positively respond to seeing Spud and Sausage, so much so that he has a long lasting rebound and much extended life. Spidey, we expect you to be hardy and hale and ancient.

Surprisingly, he's had two evenings out on the floor. On both occasions, I've removed the bottom level barrier so he can interact with Sausage and Spud. He's sat in front of them to eat some dandelion root (as usual), but hasn't shown Sausage or Spud the slightest interest. The boys, on the other hand, go to the bars to say hello, eventually forming a mini pile whilst they wait for him to say hello.

At least he's not attacking them. Ignoring is a small step in the right direction.

He tried to say hello the other night, but Spud kept jumping in to "defend" Sausage before they could say hi, and snapped at him. He is looking very down.

Poor Spidey! I feel so badly for him. Totally understand Spud being so defensive on behalf of Sausage. I hope Spidey can soon convince them he is genuinely wanting friendship and win Spud over!

I hope so too. He's been more active today, and has got his weight up to 258g. He still looks a little thin, but he's getting there

Well, Sausage and the pups had an overnight stay with John and Rebecca to have some work done to his wonky jaw. The two student vets took hold of a handful of seeds and happily went off to play.
Meanwhile, Spidey is STILL hanging on in there! To add to his arthritis, cataracts, and tumour next to his heart, he now has a substantial growth on his left shoulder. Given his age, and inability to cope with anaesthesia when he was much healthier, it's just going to be time now. That said, he's outlasted Sillygoo and Spud, so who knows!

I'm sorry there is something more going on! He is such a resilient boy, and you take amazing care of him. Whatever the length of life he has left, I know it well be the best possible. How are you doing, Bouncy?

I'm good, thanks.
Yeah, Spidey's growth is the size of a golf ball, and he's keeping mostly to one level. He still comes out most evenings, provided I lift him in and out again with the tube.
