Cardiff Urgently need a female degu

Unfortunately doug passed in the night so I need to find another girl for Dennis,she's crying for doug and I'm terrified she'll become depressed. Can anybody possibly help me rehome a degu in Cardiff?

Unless there's something on Facebook rehoming groups (I don't have an account), I can't find any in the Cardiff area. If you're willing to travel, Bristol is a possibility. In desperation, there's a pet shop just south of Bristol that responsibly sells good?

I don't drive so I can't get there 😭
My daughter is heartbroken,I think the cold weather got too much for her,Dennis started screaming as I was removing doug today and was trying to cover her with their blankets,I feel absolutely heartbroken 😭

Two 4yr old females in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Two in Befordshire but haven't replied to an enquiry a week ago about availability.

Two in Worcestershire, but already had enquiries, but doesn't say they are gone.

I just hope I can find Dennis some friends,it was horrible watching her grieving today,we're all a mess but Dennis is understandably worse.
I keep thinking if I didn't sleep I could have saved her 😭💔

It just hurts so much,I had a special bond with doug cause my ex neglected her and she came so far and trusted me and it took months but then she took to us and we showed her so much love and she was so happy with us and now she's just gone less than a year later 😭
I'd love to take on the boys I've seen online but I'm scared they'll not settle in cause of mixing boys and girls which wouldn't be fair to any of the goos,it's just a waiting game now and trying to keep Dennis as happy as we can,the grief is something I've not felt before ever and I just feel like my world is crumbling and I can't do anything but wait around 😭

Oh love!! You are not alone! My heart aches for you, and for the pain you are carrying, and I am so very sorry. I know this pain. Many of us do. I would so gladly wrap you up in my arms and hold you while you cry. This is a very hard time in your home and your heart is broken. Don't be afraid to love on Dennis. I used to tuck my degus into my shirt and carry them about with me all the time. At times I would have three in my shirt at a time. When one died, I carried those that were grieving with me as often as I could. We helped each other. Of course that meant that I was often peed on, and poop pellets would fall out at weird times, but when I was home, that was totally OK. (Don't worry, I changed clothing to go out. LOL!) You and Dennis can help each other. If she doesn't seem to want to spend time in your hands or shirt or whatever . . . even just sitting by her cage and talking to her, singing, will help and she will come to you as she feels able. Weird how just pulling out these memories, I can almost smell the urine in my shirt.

Anyway, we understand. We are here to help. Bouncy is serious about her offers to transfer degus to you. She is a wonderful and kind woman! She would do an excellent job of bringing them to you safe and sound.

Don't panic about Dennis, she has to grieve the same as you do, but she will bounce back and you can't rush any introduction process, so she will be on her own for a little while, even if you find new friends for her straight away.

The forum is fairly logical to use if you can use desktop mode on a decent sized screen. I think desktop mode even on a phone is easier to see how it's laid out.

I've messaged the facebook person in Hampshire and invited them to join this thread on the forum because I think it would be pretty impossible me acting as go between between 3 other people. If she doesn't want to join can I pass on email addresses or something?

Facebook person with degus in hampshire just messaged me back with a thumbs up, so I don't know what to read into that. May be simplest if you create a facebook account and talk to her yourself, you can alwYs deactivate the account afterwards.
