Hello, my female chinchilla (Miso), chewed bits off an electrical wire that fell onto her cage. It does not seem like she was shocked, nor was I shocked when I touched it. She bit bits of the rubbery plastic off and a little of the copper wiring, she did not make it to the main components of the cord. She is eating, and jumping around like normal, her whiskers are also fine. I did remove the plastic that she had spat back into her cage. Should I monitor her for a few days or contact the vet immediately? I cleaned her cage out so I can tell if she defecates properly, just very worried because I'm not sure how much she actually ingested. Thank you.

I've had gerbils and degus who have munched their way through electrical cables before. Provided their digestion is OK, they're usually fine. I would seriously consider, going forward, either removing or protecting cables tho!
