Hi again, thanks for the concern, i have bought critical care and feeding her until she gains some weight (she hasnt been adding a lot from the food and it varies 187-193) so she could have a better recovery, also i see she has a great bond with one of the babies and im going to ask the vet if they can keep em together after surgery for company:)

How often are you offering her critical care? Has she had surgery yet?

Don't be afraid to offer more than than that, either in one go or more often. Degus often graze through the day, so it won't be unusual

My vet just wrote that we should arrive at 9am so Maja could get to know the place and etc. he said that "since she has had these problems for a while, the anasthesia risk is higher". I am really worried about that. My friend just told me a story with her dog who had a neck/disc ruptured and had only 60% to survive, 40% to fail, and she survived:) Maja is a figther, i know it, she will survive.

I'm literally crying rn because she is near me and she is so nice apart from that she is staying near me when she is stressed and is suffering from the pain, i dont want to see her suffer anymore. i blame corona on this cause.

Vets are duty bound to warn you of any risks, they have no choice about it.
Anaesthesia always carries a risk, but it can be a risk worth taking, especially if it's to help the patient.
The vet will do all they can to make it as safe as possible.

I agree with savvy. The risk is there but not having the surgery is worse. If you do nothing, there is no hope. So, the risk is worth taking and the likelihood is that it will all go well. Will be thinking of you and Maja and sending best wishes.

She is tiny . . . but truthfully I have seen degus much worse. I think it is good you are going forward with the surgery, and I'm glad you are pressing for the use of gas.

Yea... Bad news... Maja has went from 210grams to 193grams....secod..her molars on the left side are overgrown, and she will need teeth correction and an xray, the xray costs 40 and the teeth correction 40-70euros...also it will not fix her breathing, since he would have to do a surgery that he's never done before(take the things out of the nose) and then he found that in the third eye thingy (the one you close ur eyes idk how it's called) found a small growing thingy that's white and he doesn't know what it is, the surgery would have to be on Friday on Monday, I have to decide tomorrow if I'm gonna take the risk, it will take 3-5hours with recovery at vet. Anyone had a sedation and if yes, can u tell how it went? What is Maja having done on Monday? Is it the xray and trim or is the surgery he has never done before too? Did she already have a trim?
