You guys weren't kidding about how much food they eat LMAO! I think they're packing away twice the food that the boys do and they aren't picky either.

I think you're fighting a losing battle when it comes to trying to fill the tummies of degu babies, they have hollow everything, lol.

They've got the zoomies right now, so I'm not surprised.

well you wouldn't believe it, I adopted their younger sisters too and am trying to introduce them. I was told the younger ones are 8 weeks (I'm not so sure!) but I would guess my older babies are ~9 weeks now.
and the introduction is going amazing so far. Fingers crossed.

Babies update! So... This was a fast intro! They instantly started chittering and making happy noises. I let them out and kept a close eye on them, and well... they made an instant family. Here's the two younger ones with the biggest who has really taken to mothering them.

They are all BEAUTIFUL! Are they all female? Or all male? The size difference is considerable . . . they can't be from the same litter. What ages did they tell you for the older one and the younger ones? Was it the young ones you said are 9 weeks?

The bigger ones are the ones from the first post here, and the smaller ones "are from the same family" and supposedly 8 weeks. I think they're smaller than the first 2! I've had the first 2 three weeks or so... So somewhere between 9 and 12 weeks.
They're all girls. I had to choose between them and it was a hard choice. There was a beautiful brown and white too.
There's been no fighting in this intro really. They're just loving each other.

Well . . . I think maybe they might not have told you the whole truth. I think that "if" they are from the same family, there must have been back to back pregnancies. I would think that the older ones you have are closer to 5 months old, and the two small ones are from the second pregnancy and could well be 7-8 weeks old.

I guess they could be from another mum, but the first two were sooooooooooo tiny when I got them 3 weeks ago. Maybe the same clan?

They really do! Almost (this is the most adorable thing) - the older girls have taken to jumping on my hand and running up my arm to sit on my shoulder. The younger ones try to copy everything the bigger ones do. They've instantly taken a liking to me, one of the tiny ones fell asleep in my hand today! And the grabbing on to much fingers and just cuddling it. There's sometimes possessiveness over who gets to sit on my hand. Good thing I have two LOL
Is this normal behaviour from such youngsters? My old boys and the rescues never did anything of the sort!

Probably from the same "clan", not sisters, as a degu pregnancy is 3 months, so they couldn't be from the same mum. Possible they could have the same dad, if both mums were in the same cage with him. Possible they could be cousins. Possible they could be genetically unrelated, but the mums are in the same cage together and so act as a "family". Doesn't really matter, tho, does it, as long as you don't breed them and then breed the babies together, not knowing how closely related they are.
Either way, they are incredibly cute. I would get nothing else done all day because I was just watching them.

It's not abnormal for them to be so friendly but I would say it is fairly unusual for them to be that confident and friendly so young. Lucky you
