Yeah it's narrower but a lot deeper... I'm struggling to find them in there! I still haven't seen Harmione this morning. Both are really enjoying the flying saucer, which they haven't used in 3.5 years! Bella is showing her age you know, she's so cautious and slow around the cage. Never realised in the old cage as she was so used to everything, I'm sure she will get used to it. Last time they had this amount of space to themselves they were less than a year old, and we can really see the difference now.
Just watched the old cage get taken away by the scrap metal men... New start now after a difficult few months.

Is Bella walking around a lot with her nose (so she can use her whiskers to find her way)? I'm sure she'll pick up speed! In many ways, I think flying saucers are a bit of a luxury to a goo - I think they resent the amount of floor space they take up for a decent sized one, but the girls have so much space, they just don't care any more! And let us know when you've found them! I sometimes have trouble finding my lot - it's a nice feeling in its own way

Hey everyone, another update, - don't really know whether to start a new thread or what it would come under so I'll just continue with this one. Feel free to move it if you need to! We've replaced the bottom plastic tray with a solid wooden one, the same as what was in the old cage. It's covered with our favourite wipe clean correx again and has the aluminum edging. It's been specifically made so it can be lifted out and simply emptied into the wheelie bin for cage cleans, so very happy with that. It's also been painted black to fit in with the cage. Rob is now in the process of replacing the second full plastic tray with another wooden one, I'll make sure I take a photo of that one before it goes in so you can have a nose at it if interested. Here is it currently: Next job after this will be to adapt all of the metal ladders with a solid wooden backing to make them safer for our aging goos - I'm really not happy with them currently, it's an accident waiting to happen. We have also found an old injury on Harmione near her mouth. It is most likely from the intro with Priscilla and we didn't realise how violent it got... But it feels like a splinter as well...it feels like a porcupine spine is the best way I can describe it. If I pull it she squeals but she is quite happy for us to groom her in this area, which is very unusual! Hence why it has taken us so long to discover it as her and Bella are not cuddly goos at all. We'll just keep an eye on it for now.

Depending on how far in it is, the body will either eject the splinter, or grow over it. I can imagine it being very painful in the long-term if it remains.........

Thanks Bouncy. It looks like a big scab, but feels like it's all matted together to make this hard long structure, really hope it's nothing serious, seriously cannot take anymore heartache with these goos.
