Hi, does anyone know whether sunflower petals are ok for degus? If not are there any other leaves or pettals that would be better?

Sunflower petals and leaves are safe in small amounts. Other common things in the garden are marigolds and nasturtiums, carrot tops, cranesbill and kitchen herbs. Common things in the wild are grass, dandelions, plantain (narrow and greater), blackberry & raspberry leaves, chickweed, fruit tree leaves and hawthorn and blackthorn leaves (& twigs), docks & sorrels (small amount of young leaves), hogweed, vetches (no seed pods). Try offering everything fresh and dried because they often have a strong preference, usually for dried. Definitely! My forage mix contains petals and, last year, we gave one group a whole sunflower head, which they ate over about ten days.
