Hi guys, I was just wondering how frequently I can feed my goo's flaked beans as treat. Thanks.

I would only feed them occasionally. Beans are naturally high in fibre, but they are also quite high in carbs, which isn't good for naturally diabetic goos.

Hi again, I just noticed my goo's daily pellets have beans inside. Does this mean that I should change their food?

Having looked at the ingredients, I have to say that this food isn't suitable for degus on any level. It not only has a lot of grains, it also contains molasses, which is basically sugar.
You need to find a sugar free degu food or they are going to develop diabetes. Degus don't produce insulin so they can't process sugars.
If you wish to feed pellets as opposed to a more natural diet try something along the lines of Science Selective degu food. But please stop feeding them Great & Small, It's really not suitable at all and will lead to health problems.

UGH!! That has to be a great frustration for you, Deguden! I did a blended diet when we had degus, using pellets, mixed seeds, mixed grasses and hay, and dried forage. Every time I went to the pet shop I had to read all the ingredients, even on my preferred tried and trusted pellet for our goos. The more I read, the more I realized that pet food manufactures are inclined to substitute or completely change their product recipes at any given time, often without notification. OR they tack on a "NEW AND IMPROVED" blazon . . . which I have also found seldom means it has actually improved, but rather is now worse. With the phones we have these days, taking a good quality photo of the ingredients of the food you and your degus ( ) approve, is a good thing to do. That way you can have it on hand to compare for any changes.

It does annoy me that Great and Small and Rosewoods like to infer that they produce natural and healthy feed and treats but, if you take time to look at the ingredients, it's predominantly molasses, grains, and veg high in natural sugars (like peas and carrots) and carbs.
If you have a look online at places like Zooplus, you'll find some more options, such as JR Farms grainless. If you're stuck for choice, you can also consider grainless guinea pig food. These dudes also have issues with sugars, and is usually easier to get hold of.

Hmm,I will look through some of the online options such as zooplus. Me and my goo's have been previosly satisfied with science selective nuggets so may go for them. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi again, does anyone know if Versele-Laga Nature Degu Food from zooplus would be suitable?

A few members on here feed it to their goos, so hopefully one of them can comment

Versele Laga Nature is OK if you are struggling to get your degu to accept nuggets but it's not ideal, Science Selective is better and the other grainless Versele Laga foods are better although not necessarily that well liked.
