It's definitely not the time to give up on introductions! Just a little break. Ok, first things. Yes, I've had success with introducing young pups immediately, but this isn't guaranteed. I've also had failure, which is why I ended up keeping two groups. A degu introduction could take a few days, a few weeks, months, or even years. Yes, one member had an introduction last two years. The point is, even following our introduction guidelines, the whole process has to wait and follow the speed of our goos. If they aren't ready, or are dragging their heels, then we have to too. It's all a question of their temperaments and our patience as slaves. Rushing can lead to grudges, and boy, can a degu hold one of them! Before they're ready to start the introduction, first make sure all are happy and healthy. A sick or injured goo won't help them establish a lasting hierarchy. It also won't help with territory issues if there are strange smells around. Just bide your time, and see what the goos want to do
