Anyone have good tips or experience on how make degu tree excerice wheel gnaw prof..(at last make it last longer)? my degus eats through their exerice tree wheels.... one wheel dosnt last longer than 2-3 months...
So i want to try put some metal on the edges.. the issue is how to attach it?

I think the only way to protect it would be with metal. Some aluminium perhaps up to 0.5mm thick could be cut to shape and glued or attached with minimal dome headed screws. If you can get hold of an extra large aluminium cake tin you might be able to make a better wheel, or perhaps you could find the parts to make a flying saucer. You might be able to reuse the mechanism from the chewed Trixie wheels. Or maybe if you can buy flexi-ply you could find a way to replace the running surface of the Trixie. I tried to look for cake tins or aluminium that could be used to make a wheel, but none of stores sells such items .cake tins are seasonal and dosnt sell until it's winter..

You should be able to find a 16 inch round cake tin in the UK for under £20, which will keep the tax at your end low
