He’s amazing. He’s absolutely fine with coming out to us already and he’s made up with his new cage. He’s been flying all over it chewing everything in sight. Pippin and him have been talking a lot and taken a lot of interest in each other. Vas is a brave and friendly boy. A testament to his previous owners. He seems like he’s been very well looked after. You do realise that Pippin is probably telling him all your secrets and how to wrap you around his tiny feet don't you, lol.

We have been joking saying that Pippin can’t understand Vas’ Liverpudlian accent and Vas can’t understand Pippin’s Yorkshire one! They’ve been tweeting to each other most of the morning

Vas is a handsome little fella! He makes his love for chewing clear in the first pic. Let's hope they'll get together soon! Wait for them shifting their nests to the bars

Something heartbreaking has happened. Unfortunately Vas passed away yesterday evening. He’d been fine up until yesterday, he’d been running around, eating, drinking and tweeting but when we got home yesterday we noticed that he hadn’t eaten anything and was very weak. We tried to feed him bits of food, even tried syringing him some critical care, but he wouldn’t take anything. Not even water. We made sure he was comfortable and warm during his last moments and we’re going to be burying him in the garden next to our degu, Merry, who passed.

OH NO! I am SO SO sorry!! You must be flattened . . . such a short time with you, but I'm sure you had dreams of what it would be like in a few months time. I am truly sorry for your loss. Wish I could reach through and give you a big hug. Are you OK?

We’re alright, thanks. It’s obviously just been a shock it was the last thing we expected after such a short time. Pippin seems pretty depressed. We showed him the body and he tweeted as he sniffed Vas it was heartbreaking. We’re not sure exactly what happened but we suspect he might have been ill when we got him and it worsened on the day he died. He always was a little clumsy with his back legs but we just assumed it was his age.
