Last few days one of my degu females are kinda aggressive (more like in bad mood) - she chews bars with anger and extra force, makes a mess with bedding - not just regular digging but you can see "in her eyes" and force that she throws shavings around to make a mess on purpose. If I put my hands in cage so she could sleep in them that she loved to do... now she try to bite them like get the heck away those dirty hands I don't want them. On second hand she is still friendly to her sister - no fights etc. What could suddenly change her behavior? There is plenty of room, toys, good food etc. - no changes that could make her angry...
And this aggression is more towards me! My gf hands are accepted and respected...
(and no I haven't did anything bad to her or yelled or something o.O)

There could be a number of reasons for this. She could be on heat, she could be just hot and bothered by the weather, or there could have been a change in you somewhere such as using a different soap, detergent, aftershave etc which has triggered a dislike.
Can you remind me how old they are? Also what set up do you have for them?

Hello Ktz! I would LOVE to see the third new level!!
It is possible that the she is having a delayed reaction to the added level . . . how long did it take them to discover and explore it?

She may have gone a bit territorial. Do you do out of cage supervised play with them? You could test that theory by seeing what she is like with you out of the cage. (The out of cage space needs to be safe and secure). Bear in mind that if she has gone crazy territorial she may go territorial over the play space towards her cagemate or you!)
Other theory would be hormones. For this you would see her being generally a lot more active and excitable and eating less for 2 to 5 days every 3 weeks or so over the winter half of the year.

Hey guys, thanks for answers! Last two days the girl seems to calm down. We gave both of them more play time outside of cage. Idk if those were hormones or lack of time outside but it's getting better.
