My degu loves chinchilla food and wont eat degu food. I got him from my aunt and she said if i want him to eat, ill just have to give him chinchilla food. Idk if i'm on topic tho :/. Recently my degu had a stroke a couple of months ago, he was going blind but my aunt gave him a weird medicine thing . He has gotten better. The only affect was his ear. Im still off topic aren't I?

Hello Miabeardiego11110, and welcome to the forum!
No . . . not really on topic, LOL! This is a blog dedicated to three rescues and the progresses they have made since being rescued. I would be glad to move your above post into a thread of it's own, and there we can easily discuss your sweet boy without causing any confusion to your topic, or the OP's topic. Is there a title you would like to give to this? If you have one, reply below and I'll use it, but if not . . . I'll come up with something myself. I'll make sure your user name is in the title as well, so that it is easy to locate.

Miabeardegu . . . I'm wondering how you know that your degu had a stroke? You said that he seemed to be going blind, but your Aunt gave him medicine? Is he still going blind? Did your Aunt think the blindness was connected to the stroke she thinks he had?
I'm also wondering if the ear that is collapsing in the right side of his head started to collapse after your degu had the stroke?
Your degu is one year old?
Do you know how long he has been alone?

My aunt told me he had a stroke, she didn't tell me why tho. No he's not going blind anymore. I think she did, since he was going blind on the same side his ear collapsed. Yes, he is one year old, and I dont think he's been alone his whole life, since my aunt said her friends rescued him from somewhere (idk where) and gave him to her.

Is your Aunt sure about his age then, if friends rescued him before she had him, and it is uncertain where he may have come from? One year old is really young to have a stroke.

You are right about him being too young to have a stroke, tho, they recued him win he was really tiny. So yes, he is infact 1 year old.

Hi Mia, welcome to the forum What brand of chinchilla food is it? Some that don't have any sugar or fruit in would be OK, but others not so much. We have lots of information in the diet section of the forum to help you figure out interesting and fun things you could give him to eat. What's his name? How does he seem healthwise? Does he run around in the evenings and eat (and poop) normally? It's probably hard for you to know if you just got him. If I'm being honest, he doesn't look too great in the photo, has he seen a vet? Sorry for all the questions!
